What to Expect
Mahj Madness at Kumbia is a social American Mahjong night with open play in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
This event will be played using the 2026 NMJL card.
A limited number of beginner-friendly tables will be available for players who have taken a lesson and are building confidence, with light coaching offered as needed.
Experienced players are very welcome.
Don’t have the 2026 card? No worries — loaner cards will be available for the evening, along with a take-home hand tracker.
How the Evening Works
Players will enjoy open play throughout the evening, with the flexibility to play at their own pace and connect with others at the table.
Beginner-friendly tables will have a more supportive pace, with guidance available as needed to help with game flow and decision-making.
Food, Drinks & Raffle
Your ticket includes hearty Latin American appetizers provided by Kumbia. Drinks will be available for individual purchase at happy hour pricing throughout the evening.
Each guest receives one raffle ticket with admission.
Seating
If you’re attending with friends, please have each person register
individually and note seating requests at checkout. We will do our best to accommodate groupings.
Coming on your own? You’ll be seated at a welcoming table and quickly feel part of the group.

For players who are comfortable with the basics and ready to enjoy a relaxed, social evening of Mahjong.
Play using the 2026 NMJL card in a welcoming, open-play setting. A limited number of beginner-friendly tables will be available for those building confidence, with light coaching offered as needed.

🕓 Schedule
Check-in & mingling: 6:00–6:30 PM
Open play: 6:30–8:30 PM
Please arrive during the check-in window so we can get everyone seated and started on time.

Your ticket includes heavy shared appetizers prepared by Kumbia.
Happy hour drink pricing will be available throughout the event. Drinks are available for purchase from the bar. Additional food and beverages may be ordered directly from the venue.

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend — just email Jennifer@MahjOverMatter.com so we can update our list.
Events begin promptly, so please arrive during the check-in window.
In the rare case of event cancellation, all ticket holders will receive a full refund.
